Version 2.2.7 delivers practical improvements that make quoting, designing, and pricing even more reliable and efficient. From restoring key workflows to adding flexible railing options and smarter material calculations, this release helps you move faster with fewer corrections.
What’s New
1. Independent Deck Box Creation Restored
Clicking “Add Deckbox” now creates a new, independent deck box by default, just like before. No forced attachment prompts or validation steps. This restores the fast, flexible quoting workflow sales teams rely on in the field.
2. Generic Non-Branded Railing Options
Four new generic railing types are now available for contractors who use non-TimberTech systems:
GEN Aluminum Rail
GEN Vinyl Rail
GEN Composite Rail
GEN Steel Rail
Each includes level and stair components and is priced at $0.01 by default, so you can set your own costs during onboarding. These options work with any deck type and appear correctly in takeoffs and proposals. Please email [email protected] if you would like these decking types to be added to your account.
3. Cleaner Proposal Language for Generic Railings
When using generic railings, your customer-facing Scope of Work documents will now display clear, professional labels like “Aluminum Rail” or “Composite Rail,” not “Generic.” This ensures your proposals look polished and client-ready.
4. Smarter Hidden Fastener Calculations
Hidden fastener quantities are now calculated based on the total combined square footage of the deck and all landings, eliminating over-ordering.
Old way: Separate calculations for deck and landing → often 2+ boxes
New way: (Deck Sq Ft + Landing Sq Ft) ÷ 500 → rounded up = total packs needed
The item description has also been updated to the brand-neutral: Hidden Fastener Clips – 500 sq ft coverage per pack.
